Karen Hutchinson

General Manager – Policy & Communications, Murrumbidgee Irrigation

I came to Griffith for 6 months – 20 years ago – and was captured by its people and opportunities.

I’ve worked in agriculture and water policy for over 15 years.  I am currently part of the senior management team at Murrumbidgee Irrigation where I am responsible for external water policy as well as our corporate communications.

I work as part of a great team that is passionate about the region and providing the water delivery services our 2500 customers want, in the best possible way.  As a customer owned (and funded company) our challenge is also to make sure we do this at a fair price to keep our region strong into the future.

I am a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, on the Board of the National Irrigators’ Council and  a member of the Basin Community Committee – an advisory committee to the MDBA.
